The novelty of gathering around a radio has become a thing of the past, I didn’t think that I would be interacting with content that doesn’t have visuals anymore. However, after some great recommendations from friends, I have found myself falling in love with audio content all over again. That’s right! I’m talking about podcasts.
What I love about Podcasts is that you don’t have to restrict yourself to one place while listening to them and there are so many genres that will provide laughter, self help, comfort and even guidance.
Additionally, a wise digital woman once said that listening to audio is very similar to reading a book. So why not get productive while being entertained and educated!
Here are some of my personal favourite podcasts that you should check out- if you haven’t already.
Caught off Guard
I have long been a massive fan of Ms Patricia Bright and this podcast. These discussions feature Patricia’s open conversations with entrepreneurs, family, friends, industry specialists and artists.

At first I thought this podcast was only going to be centered around business and self development, but to my delight no topic has been off limits. Patricia covers various aspects experienced in womanhood from sex, relationships, business, success and failures. I am usually selective on the episodes that I listen to with other podcasts, whereas, with this podcast as soon as I am notified of a new episode I am all over it! I truly admire Patricia and all the knowledge and wisdom that she has to offer, when you listen to her podcast, you’ll know exactly what I mean!
Favourite episode: Maureen O: You’re Patricia’s younger sister, you’re not your own person
Joe Rogan Experience
My initial perceptions of this podcast is that this one was for the lads. Although after seeing countless amazing guests being featured on this pod, I thought that I would give it a listen before making my judgment. While it was the guests that had drawn me to this podcast, it is actually Joe Rogan’s frank and inquisitive personality that has made me a huge fan of this podcast.

Joe’s candid conversations with his guests is very insightful because he is very open minded, willing to learn, which also allows us, the listeners to fully engage with the content and in turn I have been able to learn so much from Joe and his guests.
Favourite episode: Kevin Hart
Interesting episode: Elon Musk
Halfcast podcast
That one particular afternoon, toxic femininity is what I kept hearing my friends say. After finding out this statement was from the Halfcast podcast, I went home and checked it out. Before I knew it, I had gone through a rampage of listening to all of their episodes. Chuckie is the host, featuring Poet and Dan the Savage; from time to time, they also feature a lot of very interesting guests in their discussions.

This podcast is very relatable, especially if you have grown up in London, I find myself fully laughing, resonating and being entertained by everything these guys have discussed. If you are interested in music and insightful conversations then I would strongly recommend this podcast!
Favourite episode: Is Love Blind Tho???
Off The Pill
Ryan Higa was one of my youtube crushes growing up- teehee- time to get serious. So I stumbled across Ryan Higa’s podcast while looking for interviews with him, as I find his consistent creativity and personality so inspiring.

This podcast has been a great platform not only as a way to get to know the man behind all that creativity, but it has also been refreshing to see Ryan have candid conversations with his co-hosts Paco and David, featuring various exceptional guests. I have also thoroughly enjoyed the episodes with the RHPC members. It’s all very interesting- I’m here for all of the content that this podcast has to offer!
Favourite episode: Ryan’s Mom Reveals His Past (Ft. Luci Higa)
Funny episode: Daina Speaks on RHPC & Greg (Ft. Daina Benzon)
Interesting episode:Why Bitcoin? & Building a $1B Business (Ft. Michelle Phan)
The Receipts
I think there is probably not a youthful soul that doesn’t know about this podcast! Well at least in the whole of the UK. Ghana’s Finest, Tolly and Milena Sanchez are the Hosts of this podcast, they also feature various entertaining guests. The ladies describe this podcast as “unadulterated girl talk with no filter” and these words perfectly capture the theme of their discussions.

These ladies are very relatable and they give great advice on sensitive issues that we sometimes find ourselves straying away from in our society. Additionally, what I really love about this podcast is that you experience a series of emotions. And if you love karaoke, you’ll also love this podcast, especially when they burst out singing, one can’t help but jam along.
Favourite episode: 50. Love is __
GeniusBrain
David So is the main host and he is frequently joined with joe jitsukawa, these two have never failed to impress me with their insightful perspectives and knowledge. I also love the guests that they have on this podcast as they exceptionally add to their discussions.

David’s accomplishments, work ethic and drive is very inspiring and refreshing to see. I usually find myself listening to this podcast while I am eating breakfast, showering or cooling down from my workout, as I find his voice so motivational and encouraging. If you are looking for authentic conversations and laughter, while receiving some wisdom and experience filled advice, then this is definitely the podcast for you!
Favourite episode: Getting Real With Genius Advice
No chaser
I’m a fan of everything Timothy DeLaGhetto is part of, this podcast being one of them. Tim, Nikki Blades, and Ricky Shucks are the hosts of this podcast. They discuss everything and honestly no topic has been off limits- I mean seriously LOL. Discussions around dating, sex and relationships have been the main theme of this podcast.

If you are looking for a good vibe, great chemistry amongst friends and a mood boosting podcast this is the one for you! I really like how they also engage their guests and their fans questions into their conversations. These three are so funny and relatable to the point that you feel like you’re catching up with some good old friends, which is probably why I usually listen to this podcast while I am eating food on my own.
Favourite podcast: How Boze Dealt with Dating Racists and Interracial Relationships
Techish
This is a phenomenal podcast, starring tech founders Michael Berhane and Abadesi Osunsade. As people of colour we are really underrepresented in the tech industry and what I love about this podcast is that these two have industry based knowledge to properly delve into tech and everything that surrounds it.

Both Michael and Abadesi have great chemistry and their flow of conversation is insightful and so easy to follow. For a simpleton like me, topics concerning tech can sometimes be quite complex so I really do appreciate that they make their discussions enjoyable and easy to understand. As a result I have not only been able to understand more about the tech industry but I have also been able to gauge a general understanding of tech’s positioning within our society.
Favourite episode: Sharing Your Salary on Twitter, Sales is Bae, Setting Boundaries at Work, Should I Leave My Job?
Clever girl finance
This one is all about the Moolah baby! Starring Bola and her guests. Clever Girl Finance is an informative platform that empowers women on how to manage their finances, ditch debt, save money and build real wealth!

Bola is a very entertaining and educated woman! She creates digestible content that we can easily follow. I had instantly fallen in love with this podcast and I just admire Bola for providing so much guidance on achieving financial independence. This podcast is so great that it has been voted as the top personal finance websites for women. I strongly recommend this podcast, it is not only educational, but it is a very useful guide to adulting successfully.
Favorite Episode: Side Hustle Your Way To Wealthy With Yuri Gibson
On Purpose with Jay Shetty
“Your strength can become your superpower…but sometimes we can’t see our strengths”. Everything Jay Shetty has to say has a way of tugging at my heart and I’m sure many other people feel the same way.

He is definitely someone whose strength is to uplift and empower people. Without a doubt I would say that this podcast has been the voice that I never knew that I had needed, to guide me through the awkward, challenging and trying experiences that I face. I usually find myself in a meditative state when I listen to his podcast, whereas, other pods I may be moving around and multi-tasking. The reason for this is because Jay tends to ask those imperative questions that require you to actually stay still and ponder on it. If you feel restless about something or you’re in need of some guidance, then this pod is definitely the one for you!
